What are the tests?
Students are given the opportunity to play their tests during our regular class sessions. Each playing test asseses the student's ability to play on pitch and with rhythmic accuracy. The students have been given a copy of the music that is required to play for their belts.

Belts? What are belts?
Once the student has shown, through a playing test, that he/she is capable of playing the assigned song, the student is awarded a "belt" (similar to that awarded for passing a Karate test). The student then ties the belt onto his/her recorder and moves on to the next Karate song.

http://odogy.com/MusicShare/# is a website where your child can practice new songs and challenge themselves. This website will accompany your child and he or she can change the tempo (speed) for greater success. Students can give their families a "concert" or recital using his or her home computer. Give a Zoom, Facetime or Skype concert to a family member or trusted friend who lives far away.
There are many online resources students can access at home to inspire further practice through the Google search engine. Try to select songs with notes you already know.
